Inland Revenue map 1910
By Susan Flood
The Inland Revenue Survey, 1910. This was a survey undertaken by the Inland Revenue to assess the value of land for a kind of capital gains tax. The maps surviving for the area of Welwyn Garden City were continually added to up to the beginning of the Second World War. So as the garden city was developing the valuation officers altered their maps by hand. The schedules are listed in order of the numbers given on the maps and give the address and names of the owners and occupiers of individual properties.
