Tony Smith talks of his days in the Air Training Corp (ATC) in Welwyn Garden City. The ATC was formed in 1941 with the aim of preparing young men for the RAF. He and his brother who got the apprenticeship at De Havilland joined while in their teens. Both played in the ATC band.
