Decorative telegraph pole

This telegraph pole, or perhaps telephone line pole, is located in Moorside, off Beehive Lane.
As you can see, it is straining a little under its load. It has a splendid top to it which I have not spotted anywhere else. Perhaps you have one near your home?

The telegraph pole is located in far corner of the front garden of the house we lived in in Moorside from 1968 to 1989. In all that time, I think I only witnessed a BT person shin up the thing once! And I never noticed the rather ornate top to it – which only goes to show how unobservant we can be!
