Horse Trotting at Gosling Stadium

October 1960

By British Pathe

The Stadium had only been open around a year when this event took place and you can clearly see that only a small grandstand was in evidence.

At the very end of the film you catch Reg Gosling, who’s name is commemorated at the sports park, presenting a trophy.

  • The man at the very end of the film is not Reg Gosling but Gordon Maynard, Chairman of the Development Corporation. I know this because I worked for the Development Corporation and knew both men.
