Fascinating reading. My father, Ken Figg, was a compositor from around 1948 to 1976. I have his 25-year gold watch presented by the Directors. My father was a great admirer of “Mag” Newland-Smith, who introduced me to her own father, who instructed me in silver-smithing. Great to hear mention of the Arden Shakespeare, which were all set by my father.
