Brian King discusses the Welwyn Thalians, the towns longest running drama/musical group, which was created in 1929. He talks about joining the group in 1966, and performing at the Barn Theatre, alongside other events such as variety shows. He mentions performing more modern and American plays such as West Side Story in the summer, and more traditional shows such as Gilbert and Sullivan in the winter. He goes on to talk about the old rehearsal space near Applecroft School, Lawrence Hall, that they had to stop using as the building became too run down and dangerous. Finally, he talks about performing the musical The Boyfriend at Campus West when it first opened.
