Welwyn Garden City Youth Handbook, 1954/5
Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies (ref CNT/WH/1/3/1/4/4/3)

Welwyn Garden City is unusual.

It is a Garden City which became one of the first post-war New Towns. This exhibition will look how this change came about, the impact it had on the town and the experiences of those who came here after the war.  It will also look at current developments and the relevance of garden cities today.

This exhibition was co-created by a team of local volunteers supported by staff from Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies to mark the centenary of Welwyn Garden in 2020.

It was made possible thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the generosity of lottery players.
