Memories of A Lovely Scchool

By Virginia Huckle

Hi, my name is Virginia Huckle. I went Rollswood in 1957. I missed a lot of the first year due to illness.

I remember I used to runaway across the fields to thistle Grove and get back before my Mum!

The upshot was a neighbours son Steven Boreham used to take me on his way to school and I sat with Mrs Alcock eating marmalade sandwiches until School started.

Happy days there and came away with good marks and good life skills.

Does anyone remember Catherine and Theodore Thomas? Mr Thomas was a postman and Mrs Thomas was a girl guide leader, he was thin and small she was like Hattie Jaquels. They lived in the flats in Thistle Grove where the grandparents lived in flats downstairs
