Celebrating the coronation in 1953
Bassingburn Walk
David Rayner
I came to WGC about 1949 from Essex. I went to Peartree, Handside and Howard Schools and then worked at ER Holloways, Murphy Radio, Waters Motorcycles, and Currys. I left WGC in February 1963 and I now reside just outside Sydney in Australia.
In 1953 the residents of Bassingburn Walk celebrated the Queen’s coronation with a fantastic street party. Apart from my Mum & Dad, Elsie & Jim Rayner, myself some of the others I remember in the photograph are Norma. Norman, Jimmy & Clifford Randall.
