Town's Birthday celebrations
Welwyn Garden City's 90th Birthday

The town was founded on the 29th April 1920. A Fun Day was arranged in the town centre by the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council on 5th June 2010.
Activities were based at the Howard Centre and took the environment as its theme. Stall holders included the Sherrardspark Wood Wardens, Herts Waste Aware, Commonswood Nature Reserve, Fair Trade and the Council.
In the afternoon a free concert was given on the arena on the Campus by the Welwyn Garden City Brass Band and Male Voice Choir.
It was a fine fresh sunny day and lots of visitors came. There was a guest appearance by Shaun the Sheep and friend Timmy, which younger members of the town enjoyed.
