Sea Cadets and Girls Nautical Training Corps.

By Richard Bailey

This photo shows Handside Lane with the  trees in The Old Drive as a backdrop, a short distance from my home. The Sea Cadets and GNTC girls were marching to their Church Parade on a Sunday morning. I was about 7 years old, so this would have been around 1951, my older Sister was one of the marchers and you will see some of the local children looking on. The bus patiently following along behind was the 372, I often wonder what happened to it. In those days there was very little traffic to worry about and we would often play on the road quite safely.
