“The wedding was solomised at St. Francis Church on Boxing Day of Miss Mary Elizabeth Blyth, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Blyth, of 49 Handside Lane  and Mr. Stanley Thomas Kerridge, eldest son of Mr. T. W. Kerridge of Hall Farm, Welbourne, East Dereham. The Rev. W. E. Hardcastle officiated.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a Crepe-de-chine frock trimmed with diamante and veil trimmed with orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of lilies and narcissus.

The best man was Mr. Walter Henry Blyth, brother of the bride.

The bridesmaids were the Misses Winifred Blyth (cousin to the bride), Annie Ellis, Nellie Stagg, and Joan Scotchmer (friends of the bride).

The reception was afterwards held at Backhouse Room, at which about 60 people were present. Miss Blyth was a popular member of the Welwyn Theatre staff, and had been employed there since the theatre was opened.

A large number of presents were received.”
