This wedding appeared in the Welwyn Times on 1 November 1928. The photo on page 10 and the following article on page 4:

“The wedding was solomised at the Roman Catholic of St Bonaventure on Saturday of Miss May Holton, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T Holton, of Hatfield Hyde, and Mr. G Dowdall eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Dowdall of Durham Terrace, Paddington, London W.2

The bride who was given away by her father, wore a dress of white georgette with silver beads and orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.

The bridesmaids were Miss Frances Dowdall (sister of the bridegroom), Miss M Holton (sister of the bride), and Miss Dorothy Summerfield (a friend of the bride). They wore blue silk dresses with wreaths of silver leaves, and carried bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums.

The best man was Mr. Cyril Dillon.

A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride.”
