On 8th and 9th November 2014, Welwyn Garden City Library will be hosting an exhibition commemorating World War 1.

Local history societies in the area and volunteers from www.ourwelwyngardencity.org.uk have been hard at work researching stories and information about the families living in the area at the time of the first world war. The exhibition being held in Welwyn Garden City Library over Remembrance weekend, will bring all this information together.

There will be remembrance of the 51 casualties from the area who died and the 73 Australian officiers who were hospitalised in the area and subsequently died after returning to the front.

Local organisations taking part are Lemsford Local History Group, Hatfield Local History Society, Mill Green Museum, Welwyn Garden City Local Studies Collection, Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies, Our Welwyn Garden City Making Memories Project, The Royal British Legion.
